My kids recently brought home something about this website, commonsensemedia.org. It checks for violence, language, love scenes, etc in movies, video games, tv shows...
I haven't looked at it in depth yet, but it looks helpful. (Maybe I wouldn't have rented Monster House if I'd looked at this site first!)
